Mechanical Kneading Foot Massage

The leg and foot massage features vary the most among massage chairs. Some use air only, others use a robotic hand massage motion and others a combination of both. The air massage is similar to a blood pressure cuff, inflating and deflating with a squeezing type feeling. The mechanical or robotic massage function is supplied by a motor that simulates the rolling and kneading motion of a human hand.

It is often the preference of the individual customer which works best for them. Most individuals prefer a combination where the air feature inflates to hold the leg or foot tightly and the mechanical feature provides the massage.
